So I really do not want to type the next few words...Summer is nearly over. I say nearly as I am planning to cling onto every last moment of it, tighter than I am clinging onto the inflatable swan in this post, and that was pretty tight as it was moments away from blowing across onto the next greek island.

I am definitely one of those people who say "next year is going to be the year I am at my ultimate fittest with no qualms over getting into my bikini"...and I say that every year because I fail to get to that point! I do try and boost my fitness by going for the odd run but it's safe to say that I do love potatoes quite a lot. Potatoes > Running

I am a huge believer in the importance of confidence and being comfortable in your own skin. I think it's safe to say that we all have our own insecurities which maybe not everyone will understand, but hey - they don't have to!

For me, when it comes to getting into swimwear, I like to make sure the fit is right! I find high legged swimsuits flattering for my own body shape and I am so glad that there are so many different styles out there now! (I say this as though I don't still just opt for the classic black or white...if it ain't broke!). If I am going for a bikini, I typically love a high waisted set as I feel it holds me better. These two swimsuits will now be coming with me on every trip! Totally in love with the retro stripe vibe!

SO, a couple of questions I was faced with when thinking about body confidence over the summer;

1. what's one insecurity you have overcome?

I think it's safe to say that we all have our own insecurities in some shape or form. For me, I have always been a little bit curvy on the old bum and hips side of things. I recognise now that actually thats not a bad thing. Sure, I sometimes have difficulty fitting my ass into jeans - but that's ok!

2. What makes you feel confident?

Wine? Just kidding (abit). This is probably the most obvious answer for a fashion blogger - but my outfit can definitely impact my mood. If I am happy and comfortable with my outfit, I feel like I can take on the world. This doesn't just apply to going out, but even just chilling out. I can be very picky with my clothes but there is no better feeling than throwing something on that you absolutely love.

3. what advice would you give to someone trying to build their self-confidence/is struggling with their body image?

Be comfortable. I think confidence has to start with yourself - rather than other people just telling you that you look great. Once you realise you are who you are, you can be the best version of that. Work on what you want to do, whether thats working out, painting, dyeing your hair green. Once you realise what it is that makes you happy, you will exude confidence.

So there you have it! Just a little insight into my views on body confidence. In a nutshell...life really is too short to be unhappy!
